Thank you! Make a Wish Foundation
Sammy talked with Papa today and told him that the Make a Wish Foundation is send him and his family to his favorite place on earth - DISNEYWORLD! He is very excited and on his way home from the hospital this afternoon. Papa said he sounded like his energetic talkative self and was looking forward to being at his home with his sister Maddy and his brother Danny. They are leaving either this Friday or next Friday. We love you Sammy - have a BLAST!
Sweet Sammy
Good morning everyone. It is with an ache in my heart that I write this blog entry about my sweet 4 year old nephew Sammy. On Sunday my brother and sister-in-law brought him to the emergency room after a strange fall at church. The doctors revealed the very hard to swallow news that Sammy had a brain tumor. After many doctor appointments for 2 days the tumor was finally diagnosed. I will post here a description from Jen, his mother ...Just wanted to share that Sammy was diagnosed with a diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma, which is the worst of the brainstem tumors. This has the absolute poorest prognosis: nine months with radiation treatment and two to three months with no treatment. We have consulted with many different hospitals and all agree that this is all there is - medically speaking. We are praying for a miracle but are quickly preparing for the worst. We appreciate all your prayers. This is a lot for us to handle, but we are taking each day as it comes.
Please pray for Sammy's healing if you are reading this. Please pray for comfort for his mommy and daddy and his brother and sister. Sammy's story is one full of miracles and we know our father in heaven is right in the midst of all this turmoil weaving another beautiful miracle. I will share more about Sammy's miracles in future posts.

Need A Nanny
My beautiful college daughter is back home for the summer safe and sound! I missed her so much and the joy she brings into our house is amazing. She's been cooking, helping her junior high brother study for finals, and looking for a summer job. She is 20 years old and is so sweet and responsible. She has worked the last 2 summers at a daycare full time in Washington but wants to spend the summer at home this year with mommy and daddy! Cyber Wars?
According to an article on internetnews.com McAfee is warning nations against politically motivated cyber attacks. They have been predicting this threat for awhile now and just recently have seen the threats become real. Not worried about it since your not into politics? According to McAfee private and public business will not fare well and may get caught in the crossfire. It's more important than ever now to protect your information and technology against threats. Microsoft Axes Accounting Software
Microsoft announced recently that they will no longer be offering their suite of accounting software packages. Bummer for those who stuck with it for these past few years. I myself had switched over from Quickbooks to Small Business Accounting a few years ago. You see, we are a big Microsoft supporter and were excited they had added that element to the Microsoft software family. Unfortunately, it wasn't very easy to use, they kept changing it, and I eventually got so frustrated that I switched back to Quickbooks. I guess others may have had the same experience now that I hear Microsoft will no longer be offering the software. Too bad, really - it would be nice to go with Microsoft on this one but when it came down to it, I had to have a good program to do the books for my business on. Quickbooks fit the ticket. Now I am using Quickbooks Online which I love because I can travel and still access my accounting records. I can easily give my accountant a log in as well and she can work on our taxes.
