Sammy is with Jesus

Our beautiful Sammy has gone to live with Jesus as of about 9:45pm tonight. He had a peaceful passing but our hearts are aching. Thank you for all your support and prayers over the past few months. I will write more later but for now just wanted to let everyone know that he is out of pain and at peace. Love to you all - Kristin

Sammy Update

Hello family and friends. My heart is very heavy right now as I type these words to all of you. You see, it looks like Jesus is calling little Sammy home to heaven where he can be free of all pain and where he can run a jump for joy into the Father's arms. Sammy has lapsed into a coma as of yesterday and the hospice nurse has informed my brother that Sammy will most likely pass in the next 4 days.

Here is a message from his mommy, Jenn:
"Our precious Sammy is now in a coma. Please pray for him as he is preparing to enter into the embrace of his Heavenly Father. While we are grieving, we are certainly at peace knowing that he will soon be in paradise - free of pain, full of joy, and wrapped in the love of Jesus."

I remember the energetic feisty little guy we met for the first time last October and wonder why he can't stay with us and start school in the fall? And yet there is a peace that surpasses all understanding that is lifting all his loved ones up. We do trust that the Father has a plan in everything and we are saddened to lose him but excited for Sammy to experience the unsurpassed joy of being in the presence of Jesus Himself.

"Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart and lean not on your own understanding" Prov 3:5

Our lives have truly been blessed by knowing Sammy even for this short time. He is loved so very much by all of us but loved even more by his Heavenly Father and that is a comfort to us all. Thank you so much for all your support and prayers.

Ashley and I are leaving tonight for Washington, as my parents 50th Anniversary party is this coming Saturday. School starts Wednesday so Chester and Christopher are flying out Thursday after school and back on Sunday evening. I may fly directly from Washington to Virginia for his service, we will just have to wait and see what happens. Thank you everyone for your prayers - cherish every moment with your loved ones!

Hugs,
Kristin

Thank you! Make a Wish Foundation

Sammy talked with Papa today and told him that the Make a Wish Foundation is send him and his family to his favorite place on earth - DISNEYWORLD! He is very excited and on his way home from the hospital this afternoon. Papa said he sounded like his energetic talkative self and was looking forward to being at his home with his sister Maddy and his brother Danny. They are leaving either this Friday or next Friday. We love you Sammy - have a BLAST!

Sweet Sammy

Good morning everyone. It is with an ache in my heart that I write this blog entry about my sweet 4 year old nephew Sammy. On Sunday my brother and sister-in-law brought him to the emergency room after a strange fall at church. The doctors revealed the very hard to swallow news that Sammy had a brain tumor. After many doctor appointments for 2 days the tumor was finally diagnosed. I will post here a description from Jen, his mother ...

Just wanted to share that Sammy was diagnosed with a diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma, which is the worst of the brainstem tumors. This has the absolute poorest prognosis: nine months with radiation treatment and two to three months with no treatment. We have consulted with many different hospitals and all agree that this is all there is - medically speaking. We are praying for a miracle but are quickly preparing for the worst. We appreciate all your prayers. This is a lot for us to handle, but we are taking each day as it comes.

Please pray for Sammy's healing if you are reading this. Please pray for comfort for his mommy and daddy and his brother and sister. Sammy's story is one full of miracles and we know our father in heaven is right in the midst of all this turmoil weaving another beautiful miracle. I will share more about Sammy's miracles in future posts.

Thank you for your prayers.
